View a public profile’s Instagram story
Instagram Story Viewer opens the stories currently active on a public profile and plays them in one scrollable view — no login, public profiles only. It shows what is live now, not private accounts.
Enter a public username, e.g. spacex, to browse its active stories in order.
What you’ll see after you search
Enter a public username and the panel returns one of a few states: a scrollable result set (when the profile has public content for this view), an empty result (when there is nothing public to show right now), or a private-account notice (when the username belongs to a private profile). Reload any time to pull a fresh snapshot.
How to use it
Three steps, no account — enter a public username, build the view, and browse the result.
Enter a public username
Type a public profile's username (for example spacex) or paste its profile URL into the box. No login, no password.
Build the view
The panel checks the public profile and pulls the current snapshot of whatever this viewer shows — posts, stories, highlights, tagged, reposts or following.
Browse the result
Scroll the result set in one place. Open any item for a larger view, or reload to pull a fresh snapshot of what is public right now.
What does the story viewer load?
It pulls the stories that are live on a public profile right now and lines them up in one scrollable view, in posting order. You browse the profile's current story set without tapping through the app one frame at a time.
Because it reads what is currently public, the result changes as the profile posts or its stories roll off. Reload to pull the latest set.
Stories vs highlights here
This viewer focuses on active stories — the temporary ones live on the profile now. Highlights are the saved sets an owner keeps on their profile page; browse those with the highlights viewer instead.
One story link vs a full story feed vs highlights
| One story link | Story feed | Highlights | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How many at once | A single frame | All active stories | Saved sets |
| Order | Just that frame | Oldest-active first | Owner’s arrangement |
| Live or saved | Live | Live | Saved, persistent |
| Scrollable in sequence | No | Yes | Yes, per set |
How this viewer gets its data
The viewer asks a public profile for the stories that are currently active and arranges them in posting order — oldest active first, newest last. It reads the public story set only; it does not sign in, follow, or open anything a private account restricts.
Stories are temporary, so the feed reflects a moment in time. Each reload re-requests the profile’s live set, which is why the result changes through the day as stories are posted and expire.
What a typical result looks like
An active public profile often has anywhere from one to a handful of live stories at once; busy accounts covering an event may have a dozen or more. Many profiles have none active at a given moment — that is normal, not an error.
Who uses it, and why
In one view
Every active story on a public profile in a single scroll, not one tap at a time.
In posting order
Stories play oldest-active first, newest last — the profile’s sequence.
Public profiles only
Loads what a profile shares publicly; private accounts return a notice.
What it can’t do
- Shows only stories that are currently active and public — expired stories are gone, not hidden.
- Cannot open a private account’s stories; those are visible only to approved followers inside Instagram.
- Reflects the snapshot at load time, not a live auto-updating stream; reload for the newest set.

Common questions
Whose stories can I view?
Any public profile’s currently active stories. Private accounts only show stories to approved followers inside Instagram.
Do I need to log in?
No. Enter a public username and the active stories load in the browser — no account, no app.
Are these saved or live stories?
Live ones — whatever is currently active on the profile. For saved sets, use the highlights viewer.
Why does a profile show no story?
Either nothing is currently active on that profile, or the account is private. The viewer works with public profiles only.
Does it refresh automatically?
It reflects what is live when you load it. Reload the page to pull the profile’s latest active stories.
